* Die absolute Anzahl Älterer in Berlin steigt bis 2030 auf 844.000 Personen, der Anteil der Hoch-altrigen wächst dabei von 4,7% in 2015 auf 6,9% (263.000 Personen) in 2030. * Die Wohnwünsche der Berliner Bevölkerung für das Leben im Alter - Selbstbestimmung, Eigenständigkeit, Privatsphäre - folgen den bundesweiten Trends, die Akzeptanz alternativer Wohnformen liegt aber deutlich über Bundesdurchschnitt. * Wohnen wird weiterhin teurer. Nicht nur in zentralen Lagen, sondern auch am Stadtrand gab es deutliche Mietpreissteigerungen in den letzten fünf Jahren. * Die Bautätigkeit hinkt der Nachfragentwicklung hinterher. Allein in den letzten drei Jahren wurden mehr als 25.000 neue Wohneinheiten errichtet, angesichts der veränderten Nachfragestruktur bei weitem nicht ausreichend. * Gefragt sind vor allem barrierearme Wohnungen mittlerer Größe. * Die älteren Berliner möchten im Durchschnitt in 23 m² kleineren Wohnungen leben. Würden und könnten sie ihrem Wunsch folgen und sich kleiner setzen, so könnten hochgerechnet über 200.000 Wohnungen ab 100 m² in Berlin frei werden.
