Für diese Debatte haben wir vier prominenten Vertreter*innen beider Disziplinen, der Rechts- und der Geschichtswissenschaft, schriftlich Fragen zur Situation, zum Potential und zu den Herausforderungen einer Zeitgeschichte des Rechts gestellt. Wie verhält sich die Rechtsgeschichte zur »allgemeinen« Geschichtswissenschaft in Deutschland? Woher rührt das ausgeprägte disziplinäre Selbstbewusstsein der juristischen Rechtshistoriker*innen, und sollten Allgemeinhistoriker*innen dem etwas entgegensetzen? Worin sehen Sie die »großen Themen« und methodischen Trends der aktuellen rechtshistorischen Forschung, besonders der Juristischen Zeitgeschichte in der Bundesrepublik? Wieviel Theorie und Methodik braucht die Rechtsgeschichte? Wo sehen Sie Potential für neue Perspektiven, und inwieweit sollte eine zeitgemäße Rechtsgeschichte über den nationalen Rahmen hinausgehen? Welche Chancen, welche Grenzen sehen Sie für die interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit von Jurist*innen und Historiker*innen?
