Interfacing science, literature, and the humanities volume 13
Content:
The dramatic literature on the subject of the nuclear war produced between 1945 and 1975 many plays in theatre and in radio, most of which have been forgotten. The book attempts to provide a cultural-historical and thematic inventory of this fascinating, and largely under-researched genre, and to investigate it from a genre-specific perspective. For the first time, the nuclear drama is extensively documented in terms of its structure and its main motifs and themes. The historical and literary overview of the genre is followed by the interpretations of the texts, supplemented by bibliographical references to the press reception and to further literature. An extensive appendix with bibliographies and lists allows a quick access to people, plays and themes.
