    Content: A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the Mediterranean: that the Italian Naval Command in Africa is transferring to Kelibia, on May 10; that Allied Naval units off the coast are likely to prevent the arrival of an expected vessel; the German Naval Command in Tunisia report Soliman to have been evacuated, on May 10; that a hospital ship arrived in Kelibia, on May 10; that the Senior Officer of the German Naval Command in Tunisia believes evacuation is only practicable by E-boats or submarines and that Sidi Daoud is the only possible harbour, with all motor transport and equipment having been destroyed; on North Africa: that a unit of the 10th Panzer Division has 18 operational tanks; that the 10th Panzer Division is located south west of Grombolia; and that the 15th Panzer Division surrendered in the Protville area, on May 9; a day report from Army Group Africa for May 8, describing the 5th Panzer Army as facing overwhelming and superior Allied forces; that the garrison at Dj Achkel is completely surrounded; that the 334th Infantry Division is contained on three sides in the mountains north-west of Tebourba; that the German Africa Corps beat off an Allied armour attack supported by infantry and artillery; that the Italian 164th Light Division was penetrated by Senegalese troops; that Allied air superiority is preventing Axis air activity; and the Army Group's intentions to defend to the last in the area east of Bizerta and in the mountain triangle of Hammam Lif-Zaghouan-Enfidaville; that supply to the 5th Panzer Army, which is out of fuel and low on anti-tank ammunition, is impossible; that prime importance is being given to transporting fuel by all available means; and an Army Group Africa report for the afternoon of May 8, stating that Allied tank forces have broken through Hammam Lif and reached Bir El Bey
