Jahrhundert wurde die Fleischproduktion allmählich industrialisiert, der Konsum stieg und wurde demokratisiert. Im Fokus standen bald weniger das Tier als seine Verwertbarkeit und die Produkte, die es lieferte. Das Lebendige wurde verdinglicht, und wir haben uns vom Fleisch entfremdet.
