Die Autorin (u.a. "Camille Claudel") erzählt in dem Band aus der "Arena Bibliothek des Wissens" (u.a. Schroeder "USA") die Biografie von Sophie Scholl, wobei sie aber auch ausführlich auf andere Mitglieder der "Weissen Rose" eingeht. Im Zentrum steht das kurze Leben der bekanntesten Widerstandskämpferin gegen den Nationalsozialismus. Ausführlich geht Leisner auf das Elternhaus, die frühe Begeisterung für den Nationalsozialismus und die Erlebnisse beim Arbeitsdienst ein. Der Bruch mit dem Regime, die Flugblätter der "Weissen Rose", die Verhaftung, der Prozess, die Hinrichtung und der Nachruhm werden breit geschildert. Geglückt ist die Kombination von erzählenden Teilen und Sachtexten, die durch zahlreiche Fotos illustriert werden. Insgesamt ein überzeugender Band, der Privates (u.a. die komplexe Beziehung mit Fritz Hartnagel) und Politisches geschickt verbindet und ein anschauliches Bild Sophie Scholls entstehen lässt. Eine gute Ergänzung zu Vinkes ausführlicherer und zu Sichtermanns knapperer Biografie. Zur Anschaffung gerade auch für Schulbibliotheken empfohlen. Ab 12
