Bei Erdarbeiten für den U-Bahn-Bau am Roten Rathaus in Berlin wurden 2010 unter dem ehemaligen Haus Königstrasse 50 im Brandschutt 16 Skulpturen aus den Jahren 1913-1934 gefunden. Sie sind aus Bronze, Messing, Marmor oder Terrakotta, und ihr Zustand ist beklagenswert. Vermutete Werke aus Leinwand, Papier oder Holz konnten sich nicht jahrzehntelang in der Erde halten. Durch erhaltene Signaturen, schriftliche Dokumente oder fotografische Aufnahmen konnten sie als Werke identifiziert werden, die als "entartete Kunst" durch die Nationalsozialisten aus deutschen Museen entfernt worden waren. Dieser Wanderausstellung, die bis 1941 in zahlreichen Städten gezeigt worden war, wird grosser Raum gewidmet. Jeder Künstler hat hier einen eigenen Beitrag, und das gefundene Werk wird untersucht und mit erhaltenen Stücken in zahlreichen Abbildungen gezeigt. Die Ausstellung wird 2012/13 noch in Hamburg, München, Würzburg und Mannheim zu sehen sein. (2)
