"Karl Killers Detektivmuseum" - was versteckt sich hinter diesem Hinweis? Kwiatkowski findet den Weg dorthin und lernt seinen nicht unfreundlichen, aber kauzigen Leiter kennen. Unheimlich wird es, als der Junge merkt, dass er eingeschlossen wurde. Aber da hilft der Glasschneider. Als sich Karl Killer am nächsten Tag bei ihm entschuldigt, hat er auch einen Fall für Kwiatkowski, der ihm namentlich schon bekannt ist. Das titelgebende kostbare Ausstellungsstück ist verschwunden. Schnell findet der gewitzte Kwiatkowski den Antiquar, dem Killer das Stück abgekauft hat und den Fundort der Pfeife in einem verlassenen Haus. Nachdem der Fall eigentlich gelöst ist, muss Herr Killer seinem erfolgreichen Detektiv erklären, dass er die Geschichte nur angeleiert hat, um sein Museum bekannt zu machen. Kwiatkowski geht darauf ein, kommt mit seiner Schulklasse zu Besuch und das Museum in die Zeitung. Damit wird alles gut. Genauso spannend und witzig zu lesen wie die anderen Titel der Reihe (vgl. zuletzt vom Autor "Doppeltes Spiel", ID-A 32/16) und wieder überall empfohlen.

Dieser Fall um ein Detektivmuseum führt Kwiatkowski auf offen gelegten Spuren schnell zum Ziel. Aber was wollte sein Auftraggeber wirklich von dem jungen Detektiv? Ab 8.
