Die h-Moll-Messe BWV 232 von Johann Sebastian Bach ist eine der zentralen geistlichen Vokalkompositionen der Musikgeschichte. Hans-Christoph Rademann widmet nun seine erste CD als Leiter der Internationalen Bachakademie Stuttgart diesem herausragenden Werk und setzt zusammen mit der Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart, dem Freiburger Barockorchester sowie renommierten Solisten auf dem Gebiet der historisch informierten Aufführungspraxis (Carolyn Sampson, Anke Vondung, Daniel Johannsen, Tobias Berndt) in künstlerischer Hinsicht Maßstäbe. Erstmals folgt eine Einspielung dabei konsequent den von Bach selbst detailliert eingerichteten "Dresdner Stimmen". Die Einspielung beruht auf der Neuausgabe des renommierten Bachforschers U. Leisinger in Kooperation mit der Staatsbibliothek Berlin und dem Bach-Archiv Leipzig. Leisinger hat auch die Einführung im CD-Booklet verfasst, wo er über die Änderungen Auskunft gibt.
