A documentary devoted to Krzysztof Komeda, an outstanding composer of jazz and film music, a precursor of modern jazz in Poland. Out of the recollections presented in the documentary by musicians, film directors, friends and family, there emerges a portrait of a man and an artist who was way ahead of his times and entirely devoted to his passion. On the screen one can see people and places dearest to the composer, excerpts from the films he created soundtracks for, archival materials from concerts, family photographs, and music scores. Altogether, they comprise an impression on the theme of the composer, rather than a classical account of the artist's life from his childhood to the tragic accident. Because of its loose structure, the film - even though Komeda's music forms its background and leitmotif - is not only about the distinguished artist, but also about the beginnings of the Polish jazz stage, which he co-founded. The whole is complemented with animations, including the original sequence by Piotr Dumala, created for Komeda's last and most famous music theme titled "Lullaby" from "Rosemary's Child" by Roman Polanski.
