Die Flüchtlingsroute in die entgegengesetzte Richtung. Er will seine Mutter kennenlernen, von der er sein Leben lang dachte, sie sei tot. Der Vater entführte die Kinder früh nach Deutschland. Ein Großteil der Schilderungen beschreiben die Hin- und Rückreise über die Schmugglerrouten im türkisch-iranischen Grenzgebiet. Gespannt und mitgerissen fiebert man als Leser mit, ob die Grenzsoldaten ihn entdecken. Die Zeit im Iran mit seiner Mutter ist genauso emotional und berührend geschildert. Gemeinsam mit der SZ-Magazin-Redakteurin hat er seine Reise in diesem Buch festgehalten. Außerdem erschien eine Reportage im SZ-Magazin und verschiedene Interviews, z.B. mit dem SWR. Ein fesselnder Erfahrungsbericht, der zudem die Lebensgefahr deutlich macht, in die sich Flüchtlinge begeben. In allen Bibliotheken möglich und empfohlen.

Mehdi Maturi (Jahrgang 1988) erfährt erst als Erwachsener, dass seine ihm unbekannte Mutter im Iran lebt. Ohne Pass macht er sich in entgegengesetzter Richtung der Flüchtlingsroute auf den Weg, über Gebirge und Flüsse, auf Schmugglerwegen und Schotterpisten von Stuttgart nach Teheran.
