Content: This book provides a comprehensive analysis of the challenges and opportunities for achieving a net-zero energy transition in Africa. With a focus on policy, technology, financing, and socio-political factors, the book presents four potential scenarios for a sustainable energy transition in the continent. The scenarios presented highlight the importance of balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability and social development. While foreign investments in renewable energy could be beneficial, they must be carefully monitored and regulated to prevent exploitation and ensure accountability. The book also emphasizes the need for collaboration and a calculated transition to ensure that all stakeholders are involved in the process. Additionally, the challenges of achieving self-sufficiency and export-free energy are discussed, with the importance of setting limitations and regulations to prevent a vicious cycle of poverty and dependency on foreign aid. With a deep understanding of Africa's environmental, socio-political, and socio-cultural complexities, "Africa's Path to Net-Zero" offers valuable insights for policymakers, investors, and anyone interested in promoting a sustainable energy future for the continent.

Content: Major religious traditions have begun to reflect on sustainability concerns in their theology and practice. Little research, however, has explored the implications of this development for organizational behavior as well as secular thinkers and practitioners of sustainable development. This book elucidates the varied ways in which faith traditions provide new forms of coping mechanisms to deal with environmental challenges confronting humanity through an integrative review and critical analysis of recent research. Bringing together a compendium of religious and faith traditions, rooted in both Eastern and Western approaches, the contributions in this book offer new approaches to environmental stability that depart from traditional frameworks. The UN Interfaith Statement on Climate Change (2021) highlights the importance of faith traditions to foster "shared moral responsibility for the environment" and set an example for the "life-style of billions of people and political leaders around the world to act more boldly in protecting people and planet." This interdisciplinary work examines the interaction between management/organizational settings and spirituality focusing on a range of contexts and spiritual traditions including Buddhism, Sikhism, Christianity, Confucianism, mindfulness practices, and indigenous spiritual traditions. Featuring theoretical papers and case studies from different contexts and geographical regions, this book provides researchers, scholars, students, and practitioners with a broad overview of the field from a research perspective, while keeping an eye on building a bridge between scholarship and practice.

Content: This book aims to address one of the key challenges facing Human Resource Management (HRM) and Organizational Behavior (OB) researchers. It delves into contemporary topics from which focused research models, ideas, and questions can be developed and tested. HRM and OB are closely related and intersect each other in the examination of practices, which are aimed at managing employees and explaining their behaviors. Proposing to provide researchers with easy access to a slew of contemporary research advancements within the field, this work explores ten contemporary research areas within HRM and OB. Topics include innovative HRM/OB responses in crises, alternative work arrangements for the contemporary workplace, employee mental health, from diversity to inclusion in the workplace, workplace harassment, HRM in small and medium enterprises, alternative perspectives in employee turnover, organizational citizenship and counter-productive work behaviors, leading for work engagement, and employee motivation in a changing environment. Providing researchers with a comprehensive overview of research advances within selected contemporary areas, this book seeks to spur critical thinking, spark alternative research perspectives, innovate extensions to existing theories, and provide the foundation from which focused research can grow and develop within these management fields. Riann Singh is Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Organizational Development within the Department of Management Studies at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. She has extensive teaching and research experience in these areas. Shalini Ramdeo is Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Leadership and has teaching and research experience in these areas. Series Statement: New Economic Windows,
Content: This book is an outcome of the interdisciplinary conference held at OP Jindal Global University (Quantum Decision-making and Complexity modeling, and their possible applications in social sciences- economics, finance and public policy). The volume builds upon the emerging fields of Econophysics, Complexity theory and Quantum like modelling in cognition and social sciences, and their plausible applications in economics and public policy. There can be deep linkages between the micro, meso and macro scales at which these paradigms operate. In this data-driven age, greater amounts of information, along with the facility to harvest, sort and process said information, have permitted an expansion of the capability to study a society's various factors to a degree of detail and inclusiveness that has never before been available to researchers. As a result, an increasing number of throughlines is being discovered, revealing heretofore unknown connections between various disciplines and enhancing the study of such societal tropes as finance, language, shared behavior, and many others. As the reader will see, with clearer understanding of the interconnectedness of society's assorted parts comes a clearer understanding of the society as a whole. We have received critical thoughts from noted experts in social and natural sciences to explore possible interconnections. The editors of this book earnestly hope that the critical reviews presented in this volume will stimulate further scholarly interest, but also interest among policy practitioners for the purpose of exploring possibilities for creating a new paradigm for comprehending pressing issues of deep uncertainty and emergence in social dynamics.
Note: A brief overview of the quantum-like formalism in social science -- Cooperative functioning of unconscious and consciousness from theory of open quantum systems -- Hilbert Space Modelling With Applications in classical optics, human cognition, and game theory -- Remodeling Leadership: Quantum modeling of Wise Leadership -- Quantum financial entanglement: The case of strategic default -- Quantum-like Contextual utility framework: Application in economic theory And wider implications.
