Jahrhunderts zu verstehen ist. Brown fragt nach dem generationellen Zusammenhang und den transnationalen Verflechtungen der „Global Sixties“. Trotz der im Zuge des 50. Jubiläums von „1968“ erschienenen zahlreichen Studien ist das Thema nach wie vor ergiebig: So verweist Brown auf das Potenzial interdisziplinärer Forschungen, die sich stärker den kulturellen Aspekten von „1968“ und neuen Formen des Politischen widmen, auf die Analyse staatlicher Reaktionen und ihrer Eliten, auf den Wandel der Geschlechterverhältnisse und damit insgesamt auf die langfristigen Folgen dieses „epochemachenden“ Jahres.
