"Die Geiger Barnabás Kelemen und Lajos Sárközi jun. stammen aus ungarischen Musikerfamilien mit langer Tradition. Die Dokumentation zeigt Barnabás und Lajos bei Proben und Konzerten mit Freunden, im Kreis der Familie, mit Kollegen, Eltern und Kindern beim Musizieren. In Fotoalben und Privatarchiven werden ihre musikalischen Vorfahren lebendig. Für Barnabás war der Großvater, der Prímás Pali Pertis, die größte Inspiration. Stolz erzählt er, dass Pertis möglichweise für Maurice Ravels berühmte, von Zigeunermusik inspirierte Rhapsodie "Tzigane" Pate gestanden habe. Seit dem 18. Jahrhundert hat die Musik der ungarischen Zigeunerkapellen die europäische Musik bereichert. Schon Joseph Haydn komponierte "all'ongarese". Zeugnisse sind das Rondo des Klaviertrios G-Dur und der Finalsatz des D-Dur-Klavierkonzerts. Einflüsse des ungarisch-"zigeunerischen" Stils finden sich im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert bei vielen europäischen Komponisten, von Schubert und Brahms über Liszt bis zu Sarasate. Lajos Sárközi jun. ist in der siebten Generation Musiker, sein Urgroßvater Mátyás Csányi war Jazzmusiker und spielte mit Oscar Peterson." [programm.ard.de]
