Florian Kreutzer zeigt anhand von detaillierten Fallstudien und systematischen Analysen: Während die »Frauen-Falle« die Hintergrundmetapher der Un-Vereinbarkeit bildet, dient der liminale Doppelkörper der berufstätigen Frau und Mutter als imagebildende Ikone der Vereinbarkeit. Im theoretischen Bezugsrahmen dieser Diskursanalyse entwirft er eine dialektische Phänomenologie der medialen Imagebildung, die sich an Theodor W. Adornos negativer Dialektik, an der Metaphorologie von Hans Blumenberg und der Medientheorie von Niklas Luhmann orientiert
