Jugendsuizidalität ist immer noch ein Tabuthema. Die Gründe für ein erhöhtes Suizid- und Suizidversuchsrisiko sind vielfältig und komplex und interagieren miteinander. Das stellt hohe Anforderungen an das Fachwissen und die Kompetenzen der Sozialarbeiterinnen und Sozialarbeiter. Es ist nötig, mit weiteren Fachpersonen zusammenzuarbeiten, der Triage kommt eine wichtige Bedeutung zu. Die beiden Autorinnen haben sich mit dem Thema Jugendsuizidalität auseinandergesetzt und sich insbesondere gefragt, wie die Schulen im Kanton Luzern damit umgehen. Der Suizid ist die zweithäufigste Todesursache bei Jugendlichen in der Schweiz. Diese Tatsache ist alarmierend. Der Schule kommt neben der Familie eine wichtige Funktion als Sozialinstanz zu. Eine suizidale Handlung einer Schülerin/eines Schülers hat auf die gesamte Schule erhebliche Auswirkungen. Doch wie gehen Schulen mit Jugendsuizidalität um? Um diese Frage dreht sich die vorliegende Forschungsarbeit. Die Autorinnen haben in sieben Schulen der Sekundarstufe I im Kanton Luzern je eine Person aus der Schulsozialarbeit und aus der Schulleitung mittels eines Expertinnen-/Experteninterviews befragt. Die dazu notwendigen Leitfäden haben sie in vier Themenschwerpunkte gegliedert: Prävention, Früherkennung/Frühbehandlung, Krisenintervention und Nachbetreuung. Die ausgewerteten Daten aus den Interviews haben die Autorinnen mit den theoretischen Grundlagen zu diesem Thema verbunden. Sie sind dabei zu folgenden Ergebnissen gekommen: Grundsätzlich wirkt ein gutes Schulhaus- und Klassenklima vorbeugend auf suizidale Handlungen bei Jugendlichen. Die Schulsozialarbeit hat im Kontext Jugendsuizidalität eine wichtige Funktion: - In der Prävention und Früherkennung kann sie aktiv einwirken und notwendige Massnahmen einleiten. Weitere wichtige Aufgaben sind die interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit mit Fachpersonen und die Triage.
