International experience reveals that, as an economy develops and differentiation of production activities increases, interindustry linkages become more pronounced. This strengthening of sectoral interdependence is to a large extent brought about by the development of the manufacturing sector. Using data from the 1980, 1985 and 1988 input-output tables of Indonesia, the author examines interindustry linkages in Indonesian manufacturing. (DÜI-Sen)
