Dreißig kurze Geschichten, 4 Gedichte und 2 Volkslieder rund um Ostern sind in diesem Vorlesebuch versammelt. 4 Autorinnen haben sich des Themas angenommen und schreiben über Osterhasen, Eier bemalen und freche Hühner. Die Geschichten spielen aber nicht nur in der Tierwelt. Auch Kinder und ihre Liebe zum Eiersuchen sowie der Wunsch, einmal den Osterhasen zu sehen, kommen nicht zu kurz. Zwei spielen sogar in der Ritterwelt. Eine Doppelseite wird jeder Geschichte eingeräumt. Die Texte von Barbara Peters sind die längsten, da sie über beide Seiten gehen, aber dennoch gut für 2-Jährige nachvollziehbar sind. Ansonsten beschränkt sich jede Vorlesegeschichte auf eine Seite. Die bunten Illustrationen stammen von 3 verschiedenen Künstlerinnen. S. Leberers Bilder sind eher großflächig und plakativ, während die Illustrationen von Marina Rachner humorvoll-frech gezeichnet sind. So lernen Kinder in diesem Buch ganz nebenbei gleich 3 verschiedene Arten, Geschichten in Bildern zu erzählen, kennen. Da Ostern ein viel gefragtes Thema ist und das Buch bereits Kleinkinder anspricht, ist es eine solide Bestandsergänzung.
