Ingeborg Bachmann hat von ihrem schönsten Gedicht "Böhmen liegt am Meer" gesagt, sie könne gar nicht glauben, dass sie es selbst geschrieben habe. Alles, was ihr Leben und Schreiben ausmacht, steht in diesem Gedicht. Die Entstehungsgeschichte gerade dieses Gedichts ist staunenswert und berührend: Ein Jahr nach der Trennung von Max Frisch und ihrem Zusammenbruch reiste die Dichterin im Jänner 1964 mit einem jungen Begleiter von Berlin nach Prag. Dieser Reise verdanken wir nicht nur "Böhmen liegt am Meer", sondern einen bisher unbemerkt gebliebenen Gedichtzyklus. Hans Höller und Arturo Larcati, beide Herausgeber der Salzburger Bachmann Edition, leuchten die biografischen Hintergründe dieses Zyklus aus
