Rezension: Anfang 2016 bereiste ein Journalistenteam des linksradikalen Nachrichtenportals "lower class magazine" die kurdischen Gebiete im Südosten der Türkei. Ihre teils schon anderswo veröffentlichten Reportagen nehmen mit einer der kurdischen PKK nahe stehenden Position klar Partei. Sie dokumentieren die Lage in den in den Ausnahmezustand versetzten Städten wie Diyarbakir, zeigen das rigoros verschärfte Vorgehen der Erdogan-Regierung, deren Polizei- und Militäreinsätze viele Todesopfer forderten, und auch die Erschwernisse für die journalistische Arbeit in der Türkei. Die Berichte werden ergänzt durch Analysen zur türkischen Kurdenpolitik und Interviews mit Vertretern der PKK, der ihr nahe stehenden neuen Zivilverteidigungseinheiten (YPS) und der Zivilgesellschaft. In den Beschreibungen durchaus eindrucksvoll dokumentierend, sind die Berichte mit ihrem Kämpferjargon aber auch selbst ein Indikator für die bürgerkriegsähnlich eskalierte Konfrontation in den türkischen Kurdenregionen.
