After an introduction to the existing literature and the theoretical background of international mobility research, the author compares the earnings of mobile and non-mobile employees in Germany as well as the development of incomes of people that change jobs within a region. This survey of the effects of mobility on earnings is the first comprehensive mobility study in Germany.
